A free directory

Garage Sales Search helps people find local sales and publish listings. We do not sell the advertised items, take payments, reserve goods or act as a party to transactions between shoppers and sellers. There is no charge to post a standard listing.

Posting responsibly

Post only a genuine sale you are entitled to advertise. Supply accurate details, use an email you control, and keep your listing up to date. You must have permission to publish the address, text and photographs you provide.

Do not post unlawful goods, scams, spam, misleading information, abusive content or another person’s private information without permission. Do not interfere with the service, bypass verification or rate limits, or attempt to manage listings you do not own.

Your content and public listing

You retain your rights in your content. By submitting a listing, you give us permission to store, display and distribute it as needed to operate the directory, including public search, assistant results and sale-alert emails.

Your sale address, details and photos become public when published. You can change or cancel your listing using Manage. Cancelling removes it from the directory, but cannot recall emails, search-engine copies or content already obtained by others. Our privacy policy explains data handling and retention.

Using an assistant

You may authorise a compatible assistant to prepare, publish and manage your sale. Review the information before approving publication. Agent publication requires email verification; management requires your private listing credential. Keep that credential secure and authorise only actions you intend.

An assistant connection does not guarantee that every assistant can use the service or will recommend it. Availability depends on the assistant provider, its permissions and the connection you configure.

Availability and listing quality

Listings are supplied by sellers. We cannot guarantee their accuracy, item availability, attendance or the number of shoppers a listing will attract. Check the current details before travelling or purchasing.

We may remove inappropriate listings, limit abusive requests or suspend access to protect the directory. Features and availability may change, and outages can occur. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Help and changes

Report incorrect listings, misuse or other problems through our support page. We will update these terms on this page when they change.
